Think you know therapy?
Think again. Maybe you’ve had therapy before and you remember feeling emotionally drained at the end of the session. Every session reliving the worst parts of your life.
Clients regularly tell me they’ve had over 40 sessions of CBT and counselling and yet they are no further forward and in some cases are worse than when they started!
Working with me doesn’t feel like therapy I’m told. I’m more of a coach than a therapist. I can help you make changes to your thinking without having to relive old painful memories.
Clients tell me all the time that their previous therapy made them feel sad when they left.
That they relived the worst times of their lives every session. That is NOT how I do things. You should leave the session feeling better than when you came in.
If you’re not you are with the wrong person or doing the wrong therapy. I don’t claim to have a 100% success rate or have a magic wand but read my reviews if you want to get an idea how therapy is with me.
Therapy should be enjoyable dispite the issues you have. Not stuffy and patronising.
So if you’re not getting the results you expected from your therapist you don’t have to keep flogging a dead horse. If you’re not feeling better after 4 sessions you won’t feel better after another 40.
